Before founding Constructive Dialogue, Tim’s practice was based on carefully crafted residential and community building projects carried out within tight budgets. In 1997, after gaining a range of experience with Sydney and Adelaide architectural practices, Tim began the Sydney-based building design partnership Hewitt and Turner. His work focuses on closely considering the particular place and users of each building and the sustainable use of materials, energy and water systems in the buildings. His experience has fed directly into the approach taken by Constructive Dialogue towards aged care, where residential construction systems are often used. Tim has also taught several courses in architectural history, theory, construction and design.
